TelecityGroup, Europe’s leading provider of premium carrier-neutral data centres, won the “Best Data Centre” award at Capacity Media’s 2013 Global Carrier Awards held in Amsterdam.
The award recognises TelecityGroup’s innovation, vision and excellence in delivering the premium data centre environments for the global carrier community. In particular, the ecosystems present in TelecityGroup’s facilities act as rich marketplaces where carriers are able to interconnect with each other and tap into the widest possible selection of customers and suppliers.
The judges cited TelecityGroup’s “valuable, controlled growth across Europe and its dedication to expanding data centre capacity across new and existing markets. This has enabled TelecityGroup to grow, despite the highly connected internet data centre market being characterised by long lead times for new capacity.”
Michael Tobin, CEO of TelecityGroup comments: “This award is a fitting testament to TelecityGroup’s ongoing commitment to delivering the thriving, connected, digital ecosystems that form the heart of today’s digital economy. As our data centres grow, the larger these ecosystems become and the more our customers benefit. In particular, new commercial communities and marketplaces emerge within each facility for customers to interconnect and sell services to each other. At the heart of this approach is our strategic growth programme which continues to introduce new data centre capacity throughout key European markets.”
Arranged by Capacity Magazine, the Global Carrier Awards have become the biggest and most prestigious awards event of the wholesale telecoms calendar. Now in its eighth year, the prestigious judging panel included Capacity Magazine editor, Alex Hawkes; Current Analysis’ Business Networks and IT services research director, Joel Stradling; and Deloitte Germany’s partner and head of telecommunications, Dieter Lange.
