The Digital Hub Development Agency (DHDA) has today (15.07.14) announced the appointment of Gerry Macken as its Interim CEO. His appointment follows the departure of Edel Flynn, who served as Interim CEO of The Digital Hub since April 2013, following six years as Chief Operations Officer.
Mr. Macken joins the DHDA from Dublin City Council, where he served as Head of Internal Audit. Previously, he was CEO of Dublin City Enterprise Board. His appointment to the DHDA commences with immediate effect.
Announcing Mr. Macken’s appointment, Paul Holden, Chairperson of the Board of the DHDA, said: “On behalf of the staff, clients and Board of the Digital Hub Development Agency, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Gerry Macken to the position of Interim CEO. His expertise in enterprise development and governance will be of major benefit to the Agency.
“While welcoming Gerry on board, I would also like to acknowledge the leadership and commitment of Edel Flynn and her valuable contribution during her previous role as Chief Operations Officer. Edel’s contribution to the growth of the agency as an international centre of excellence for growing digital enterprises in Ireland is strongly evident. Together with the Board, I wish to express our gratitude to Edel for her efforts and wish her the very best with her future endeavours.”
The DHDA is the government agency that manages The Digital Hub enterprise and regeneration project in Dublin’s south-west inner city. In October 2012, it was announced that the Agency would transition into Dublin City Council as part of the Government’s programme of public service reform.
