The Irish Software Association (ISA) has just revealed the companies shortlisted for the Irish Software Awards 2015, with five competing for the overall title of Digital Technology Company of the Year.
Fenergo, Asavie, Qstream, Globoforce, and Ocuco – which employ more than 850 people between then – are in line for the top prize, with the overall winner to be announced on 20 November.
In the Emerging Company of the Year category, Sedicii, Bizimply.com, InvoiceFair, SilverCloud Health, The Hire Lab and Beats Medical are all in contention.
The latter on that particular shortlist is headed by Ciara Clancy, who was recently named as the European Laureate at the Cartier Awards for her business, which created a smartphone app that provides ‘specialised cueing treatment’ for Parkinson’s patients – basically soundwave treatment that enables people to regain mobility.
“The software and digital technology sector in Ireland is thriving,” said Paul Sweetman of the ISA. “Year-on-year, stellar companies are entering the Awards and 2015 is no exception.
“Nearly 70 tech companies and organisations from across Ireland entered this year’s awards and it is the tireless efforts of workers in these companies that brings Ireland to the fore of the global technology sector.”
The work of four academic institutions and researchers has also been recognised with the Irish Centre for High-End Computing, the Insight Centre for Data Analytics at DCU, the Irish Centre for Cloud Computing and Commerce and Trinity College Dublin up for a separate award.
